what is up with Rick Ankiel lately?  He started the season off fairly well actually, but since May 5th, he has been terrible.  He seems to be swinging and missing a lot, and he is chasing a whole lot of breaking stuff in the dirt.  Rick kind of reminds me of Espinosa a few weeks ago with how clueless some of his plate appearances are.

His average and OBP are above his career averages, power numbers are slightly off. A lot of it has to do with him not being a very good hitter

What about maybe playing Desmond in LF? Defensively he's been okay, but he's been saved a couple errors by LaRoche being the picking machine. Desi's bat would play in LF.

Bad idea, seems to finally be coming into his own on defense... and despite the uptick in power, I don't think his bat plays in a corner OF spot.

I agree. It was a thought.

I think Espi should right handed from now on.

I would like to see it given a shot as well... but I have a feeling the Nats wouldn't suggest that switch till the winter time, at the earliest.

I'm not big on the RBI stat, but Adam LaRoche and Chad Tracy have combined for over 1/4 of this team's RBI's.  The mind boggles.

LaRoche seems to have cooled off. Good time for Morse to come back

Morse will give us that spark we need, no way Davey starts an outfield of Lombo/Harper/Morse though.

I don't think Hudson really has no-hit stuff tonight.

Braves need to worry about the Nats starters...even Detwiler, who could be replaced by CMW if Davey wants some variety after 4 innings or so.

#nats offense coming alive? This is the 17th game in which the #Nationals have had 10 hits or more (12 today) 10 of the 17 have been in May.

Asked if he would consider playing for the Nationals, Bourn said, "Well, that's kind of hard to say right now. I'm playing the season with the Atlanta Braves. I'm enjoying my time here. When that time comes, I'll entertain those kind of questions."
Did Bloodfart Laddyburger actually ask him that? Wtf do you think he's going to say?

I love that we're scoring runs. Defintely makes games exciting! Though our defense (pitching) seems to be slipping up a bit. Hopefully that situation settles down, though.

But actually hitting!  :eyebrows:

Kind of sucks that we have a 1 PM start in Miami following an 8 PM start in Atlanta.  I assume that JZ heads down early.
