Per the run expectancy matrix, with the bases loaded one out, 1.546 runs on average.

 :-[

So we should've won 2.5 to 2?

You've got it!

 :?

I wish they would put the probability table instead - chances of getting 0 runs, 1 run, 2 runs, 3 or more, etc.

I hear that after tonight Desmond is officially dead last among qualified NL position players in OPS... is this true?

Yes and no.  Orlando Cabrera is lower but most of his PA's were in the AL.  Excluding him, Desmond is the lowest.

...just the kinda player you want batting leadoff!

well the nats should've traded him and pitching prospect to the rays for b.j. upton and then we could've called up lombardozzi to leadoff.

Oddly, even with the dollar hotdog promo on last night, the Nats drew over 3000 fewer last night compared to Tuesday (20,374 vs 23,888).

...proof that it's going to take more than promos to fill that ballpark...the product on the diamond please, the product on the diamond....

Sean Burnett has been awful this year.  Last night's loss was probably more on him than on Ramos who was probably just doing what Pudge taught him to do.

Right, even lowering the prices and giving beejs to STH renewals aren't going to fill the stadium with a low quality team taking the field.

When you have players with "challenged" baseball smarts, the manager has to be more proactive with at-bat in situations like this.

What do you get with fans with "challenged" baseball smarts?

:lmao:  If the pitch splits the plate people are nagging about why he didn't swing at the one pitch that was served up on a plate to drive.

Tuesday was a $2 ticket night though...

That would at least partly explain Tuesday...tonight we'll see what a real promo-less night will bring...should be a pretty 'pure' count of how many would pay regular price - unless one thinks a Mystics home match (vs Minnesota Lynx, tip-off 19.00) or a televised DC United away match (at Chicago Fire, kick-off 21.00, ESPN2), even if they were winning (Mystics aren't, United have improved but have quite a way to go) would seriously cut into Nats attendance.
