Did you guys watch the documentary "Beats, Rhymes & Life"? It was dope, but made me kinda mad. They are still mad immature.

I've avoided it because I hate Michael Rappaport.  Might have to check it out tomorrow.

Just found this Johnny Cash song, I guess it's been out for awhile, but just ran across it, damn I like it a lot.

Yeah, listened to it, think his is much better to be honest. Guess it's the same way I look at "I Will Always Love You," Dolly Parton might have sang it, but I think Whitney Houston perfected it.

Just one of those rare, rare cases with me.

That Springsteen song is atrocious.  He should should be hung for that along with everyone that helped record it.  :hang:

musically, it is too slick. I'm guessing he recorded a more middle of the road version in order to get his message onto radio stations.  I could see some XM channel picking it up.  Because it has a flag in it and talks about "taking care of our own," even some clueless country DJs on XM will play it.   They will think it is about self reliance rather than our collective responsibility for each other.

Sad to hear no Danny Federici or Clarence on the tune.  A sax could have given it some cajones instead of the strings.  I'm guessing the live version will be much more memorable when the guitars come forward and there are more horns added.

Also, did you notice the Calvary / Cavalry slip up?  If it were intentional, I think he could have worked Calvary in better.

Like I said, I will prefer the live version.  Meanwhile, the doofuses that couldn't figure out what Born in the USA was about will love it.

Listening to Enimen -"Toy Soldiers", Rhianna - (some of her music videos are kind of disturbing -she seems to be a "sick puppy" on sexual violence-look at video - " I Love the Way You Lie" with Enimen  - makes you wonder if maybe Chris Brown wasn't the one to blame in the violence between them - just saying),  Adele - "Rolling In It" , and Bruno Mars .  8)

Danzig wrote two songs for cash. I actually like danIgs version of thirteen better. Its the theme song to the hangover.

That's a great album.  There is even a Depeche Mode cover, which as freaked up as it sounds, is actually good.

It's a horrible, horrible song though along the lines of that Jonny Cougar song "This is our country".  I've been a Springsteen fan almost as long as I've been alive and that might be the worst thing he's done since "Lucky Town".

Mellencamp wrote that thing because he could not believe being progressive was being equated with being unpatriotic by many of the folks who he thought he was trying to help in his life.

As for preachy message songs by these guys, I kind of like this:

The new album rules because they never had good production before. That EP is good too. I just got the new Amorphis.

Listening to the newest In Flames album on Youtube. I've seen lots of people dumping on their more recent stuff, but I did my best to go in to it with an open mind. In short, it sucks. Maybe I'll give their old albums a listen.

I haven't listened to all of it yet, but thus far, it's radio-friendly drivel, although Deliver Us is a solid song.

Track 12 was recorded with a full orchestra. They were given enough studio time to experiment and I think they really grew during the process.

Who.  The freak.  Is this?  Does he have any good bands/songs?  The only thing I recognize is from Tribuzy.  But god damn, this is my kind of vocalist (I think)!
