I like his line of 21 K, 3 BB

I like his chance of joining the rotation at some point this season.

With our situation it's almost guaranteed that he'll be in the rotation at some point this season, maybe sooner rather than later.

The basepaths are an open highway with O'Connor on the mound, 6 stolen bases today :?

Maybe during ST he wants to focus on gettings guys out . . . Would have to look at his 2006 SB statistics for a true measurement. Can't find them on MLB.com or the baseball cube

Well, 2 out of the 3 Mets starters that played in this game (the other being Church) showed what would probably happen to O'Connor in an actual game. :?

Tatis? The Expo Killer? Minaya sure is pulling out all the stops to make sure the Nats don't ruin their playoffs dreams again.

OP with another easy perfect inning. That punk always pitches well against us.

He had a great season last year. He's a pretty dominant pitcher.

:| If Langerhans starts on Opening Night we are doomed.
They'll most likely use Mackowiak or Harris or even Garret Guzman before looking to Langerhans.

I actually had not even paid attention to their lineup. I guess it's their travel lineup :?

Well, at least we know Zimmerman's ready (he just got another RBI and his average is now at .375). Why is ST going almost exactly as predicted? I guess the biggest surprise to me would be our improved top of the lineup. At least we have that now.

Anyone else get the feeling that Maxwell is going to be a solid player somewhere else?

I've thought that but that's not cool. We have all these broken down pitchers that we cater to year after year yet we are worried about having to give up one of our strong outfield prospects :?

He'd definitely get us something nice in return.

I think it's more likely that somebody else gets dealt, giving Maxwell a permanent place in DC.  That's the nature of the business now.  Maxwell will be cheaper for longer due to his lack of service time.

Is O'Connor really that slow to the plate?  5-6 SBs given up in less than 5 innings?

QFT. WMP might not be here next year - his contract makes him pretty tradable.

My son and I attended the game on Monday.   Even with the heavy breeze, it was a great day for baseball.  Too many mutz fans were on hand.   Zimmerman's stab (creating the run down) was a nice move to his right.   The runner thought it was through and was dead meat after heading home.   Maxwell does look good (seems nice at the plate too) in CF.   Finally O'Connor is so gangly (is that a word) it seems his mechanics have to be bad (LOL).   I don't know if it's mechanics or just an awkward look.   What a great day for baseball ....
