Zimmerman was taken out of the game for right hip flexor tightness. The team says it is nothing but a precautionary move.

Stupid frickin announcers - if the broadcast hadn't been like a giant spike through my brain I wouldn't have had to mute them and I would have heard them say that ..

Good to see Patterson throwing without pain but we can only hope he can get back to throwing in the low 90s. He is a power pitcher and for him to be fully effective he has to have his good fastball. We saw what happened last year when he couldn't throw harder than 86-87.

I just want to reiterate to those who didn't get a chance to see the game - that Hanrahan was AWESOME ... there were only 2 guys who even got the bat on the ball - one for a hit, one for a fly out - the rest were STRIKEOUTS ... he was absolutely dominant ... good for him ... very fun to watch ...

As everyone saw last year his stuff is very good. That has never been the problem with him. He's got a great fastball and a decent breaking pitch/changeup. The problem has always been throwing strikes. Maybe being in the bullpen will do wonders for him. So far he looks awesome. 8 Ks to 0 walks is a huge accomplishment for Joel. If he keeps it up he deserves a spot in the pen.

Yeah, I always liked him in ST last year, and he then showed flashes of his capabilities when in the bigs. But it all came down to control/mental issues. He seemed to kill himself with unnecessary two-out walks. Nevertheless, with his ability to bring the heat and mix in some nice offspeed stuff, we needed to hold onto him at least as a potential reliever. Last year was his first year in the bigs, so maybe this time around he will show some adjustments.

Just got done watching Hanrahan's outing. Holy crap. He was throwing 95-96 with great control. He was hitting the corners perfectly and blowing it right by the likes of Chipper and Teixeira. His slider was freaking nasty. Insane downward movement. Complete different pitcher than we saw last season. He was confident out there on the mound. Give Flores some credit too. I think he is a GREAT game caller. It seems like whenever he is in the game our pitchers generally do well.

Yeah, maybe they brought up Steven Shell a lot to knock some sense into him. He's pretty huge, so it takes a hard hit . . .
