Whatever you want to call it, we’ve now had 82 games, more than half the season, post cortisone and our record in those games is 52-30 (.634 winning percentage). That puts us ½ game behind the Reds who have the best record over this stretch (52-29). The As, who were prominent in the last update have fallen off.
At home, we’re 9th, 28-16 (.636). The Brewers have ridden Miller Park back into contention and are first at 28-11, ahead of the White Sox 25-10 and Tigers, 30-13.
On the road, we’re #3, 24-14 (.632) behind the Reds 26-14 and the Giants 24-13.
It’s a three team races for runs scored per game, us fractionally behind the Brewers at 5.21 with the Angels still leading at 5.31. No other team is averaging more than five runs per game over this period.
Runs allowed per game, we’re #6 at 3.88 per game. The Rays are first, allowing 3.24 followed by the Braves (3.37) and the Mariners (3.54). Oh if Seattle could score, what they might be. Only the Astros score fewer runs than the Mariners.
And for run differential, we’re back at #1 at 1.33 runs per game followed by the Rays at 1.11 and the Braves at 0.90.
