Good.  If you are risk-seeking, I'll meet you in the Red Porch between games and buy you one.  Ask Karen (the tall blonde bartender) to pick me out.  You & her would hit it off, for she just lost 40 pounds through diet & exercise.

Thanks, I'll have to give that a try tomorrow at the mid-point.

Not that this is possible but what does it taste like?  Last year I tried something at the Porch that had a really nice crisp, spicy taste to it that I really liked.

Are you threatening me?  :P  Thanks for the offer, I'll have to take you up on it.

Hopefully she'll get along with Mrs. de Sade as well.

If you really want to live on the edge, masticated fermented manioc is how the shuar tribespeople in the Amazon get freaked up.  I have a friend who does field work down there for 6 months out of the year, and he swears that there is nothing better after a nice bite of charred monkey.

Ali, think I'll have to pass on that.  If I'm going that route I'm breaking out the Richie Hawtin and dropping sheet one...

Belhaven Scottish Stout. If you find Guinness lacking in taste, this stuff is great. Way more taste than Guinness. Sweet/tangy in the beginning, a little bitter finish. It really only looks like Guinness.  It reminds me of those little starbucks double shot espresso can things. I told my gf they taste like dark chocolate and she says it tastes nothing like dark chocolate. One of our tastebuds are messed up

I've had Belhaven ale in big ass cans at train stations.  Lethal freak U up beer.  Guess they've gone upmarket.

I always thought Guinness is the Budweiser of dark beer.  Where did you find Bellhaven Stout ?

Guinness it's generally the only thing of it's type available. So I drink it when I dont want carbonated beer. Found belhaven at the queen vic on h st. they have a lot of stuff other places dont because they focus on english-like stuff

Which part of Belgium? The hot chicks, the waffles, or the giving up in WWII? It's an important distinction.

I love the Ralph Steadman labels.  But isn't it "Flying Dog"?  A creature that exists in the world of LSD hallucinations rather than the ocean.

Yeah - I don't really care for Flying Dog Pale Ale but that porter looks pretty good.

We polished off a pint + of Unibroue Le Fin Du Monde the other day, tasty.

Fin du Monde is great.  More than a couple of bottles and it is fin du nuit.

i dont know if i've had the pale ale but i usually like flying dog. the two i can recall quickly are raging nag and their oktoberfest. i bought a bunch of oktoberfests last year and theirs was the best. itwas much different than the others so maybe it wasnt authentic, but it was good

harris teeter is selling their own brand now. i think it goes by "barrel trolley".  going for kind of a budget craft niche. cant remember if it was 5.99 or 6.99 a six pack. i had their pale. pretty tame, but good. just hoppy enough to taste it yet not overwhelming and you could drink a lot of them. a "session" beer, in geeky beer reviewer terms

There's a beer garden in Westover in Arlington that serves excellent micros on draft. It's attached to a grocery store that has a great selection of bottles too.

Tried the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy on draft there the other day. It has lemonade in it, and is highly fermented, almost carbonated. It's a great, refreshing summer brew.

Went to the Capital Alehouse in Richmond over the weekend.   They have lots of beer ....      We drank rum 'cause we couldn't figure out what half the beer was.
