I hate that we are keeping all these freaking relievers. Both Stammen and Mattheus have pitched like crap since they got a reprieve from being demoted when Storen came back.

You're denser than usual today.

Stammen didn't get a reprieve from being demoted. He's earned his spot.

Mattheus ERA finally going back up where it belongs. He's not a very good pitcher. He should K a lot more than he does with his stuff. Guys should not be hitting balls like that out.

So does he have good stuff or not? your post argues both sides.

Are you really expecting a rational answer?

He throws low-mid 90s with good movement and a decent offspeed pitch but the results don't matchup. Low K numbers and too hittable. I wouldn't want him pitching in September in a close game.

Watching the bottom of the 7th (on tape delay). The umpiring is just awful!

Huh, they're batting Axford.   Both managers are senile...

Why was Mattheus still pitching? Burnett / Storen / Stammen would have been my 8th inning choices

So you're saying he does have good stuff.
Which doesn't make him a good pitcher which he clearly isn't.

Thank goodness they play 162 games and players are not judged over small sample sizes.

This is Axford's first at-bat.  EVER.

What would you know about what makes a good pitcher or not?
