Born at old Garfield Hospital. When you see pictures of the Stadium, Garfield is the the flat-roofed building (three wings?) on the left field line. Absorbed into DC Hospital Center. Sister born there, too, and had her tonsils out at Providence Hospital in Michigan Park. We were a North East family...South Dakota Ave, Michigan Ave, Rhode Island Ave, Turkey Thicket, Avondale.

And you?

I'm a W. PA boy but I've been here 41 years.    My buddy ran a station at 10th and Michigan ... within shouting distance of Catholic.   I got hit by a car at the VA hospital  :)

Espinosa is 8 for his last 70 (.114) but still leads all rookies for RBIs.

Somebody tell the announcer that the Nats did not play their first game against the Mets, and probably scored six runs in te first many games over the 100 years there have been pro baseball in DC -- and almost all teams were called Nationals or Senators.

Rarest feats:

- 12 inning perfect game

- all-Cuban triple play

- Same pitcher shuts out Yankees three consecutive games.

I'm not buying that Marquis running to third is to blame for his pitching performance.

Maybe he got too comfortable with such a large lead.  I think at least some of it is definitely mental.

He's a true pro.  Despite being relegated to the bench most of the time, he still gives his best every day.
