losses stoppped becoming embarassing for us a long time ago, my friend. They're expected.

Not for me.

Not when you have a 6-2 lead in the top of the 7th inning and then an inning later you are down 1.  Doesn't matter how bad you are or how good your opponent is, that is extremely embarrassing.

Gordon is another 5+ ERA reliever for the Phillies and we still can't score!

Gordon was their closer early in the season, before he went out hurt.

C'mon Carpenter... SAY IT, while you still CAN...
"Jeez, the Nationals STINK!"

Phillies bullpen tonight: 6 IP 2 H 0 R 0 ER 4 BB 6 K  >:( INEXCUSABLE

And that was with using all crappy relievers.  The Phillies closer, Myers, is actually good and he will have no problem shutting us down.

The Phillies must have more relievers with ERAs north of 5 than any team in MLB.

and they still shut us down with ease.. It's like they gave up after Lohse left the game.  They could have won the game in 3rd, 4th, 5th innings by pulling away from the Phillies but instead they just coasted with the 6 runs.

No matter how much anyone likes them, or how much gum they give out, SIX of the batters in tonight's Nationals' lineup were all DISCARDED by other teams.

Just got back, can't say I'm surprised 2-on no-out for the Phils in the top of the 7th turned out to be the end of the Nats lead.  And as I predicted, we still haven't scored so much as a single extra run since we knocked out their starter   God I hate being right all the time >:(

rare good outing from Saul of course when it doesn't matter.. We couldn't buy an inning like that in the 7th or 8th.
Here comes the unstoppable Brett Myers.  He usually owns us

That would be the case with most teams, though.  Most teams don't have lineups full of players that only played in their system.

...and it doesn't change the fact that the Phillies bullpen stinks, by any definition.

PLAN A:
A. Zimmerman walks.
B. Pena homers

C. Nook waves them in as we win.

And I'd still like to be mocking you but, unfortunately, I still can't.   :(

...and not only have we not scored, we've only gotten one hit!
