I wouldn't be shocked if this recent relapse causes Hamilton to drop a lot of the god talk.  That's one thing a lot of addicts discover when the night gets darkest - only you can control what you do, not god, not some higher power, you.  Some people can't deal with that.

The God stuff is what got Hamilton out of it to begin with. He won't stop it now.
