Sad news:
Quote
The wife of Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Scott Schoeneweis was found dead Wednesday in their Fountain Hills, Ariz., home, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's office.

D-backs team president and CEO Derrick Hall confirmed the news.

Gabrielle Dawn Schoeneweis, 39, was unresponsive when sheriff's deputies came to their home at 12:11 p.m. MST on Wednesday responding to a call made by the couple's 14-year-old daughter.

According to the release, Gabrielle Dawn Schoeneweis was found on the floor of the master bedroom. Police are investigating, and the cause of death has yet to be determined.

Hall said that Schoeneweis had left the team in Florida to head home.

26 pitches in one inning is not good news. We don't want the bullpen out too quickly.

I'd much rather a starter give up a run in a 12 pitch inning, than give up none in a 26 pitch inning.

Way to battle out of that. It seemed like he threw a ton of pitches and worked slow. houston-nat don't waste any time. Come up with a list of hitting goals to get the offense started.

No, that can't possibly be it.  It's because he is some sort of Spanish.  He is a muchacho/amigo! ;)

Yeah that way he could go the distance and yield 9 runs.  :?  That's about as bad as thinking that it's better to have a 12 pitch at bat resulting in an out over a 1 pitch double.

Maholm is just the type of pitcher that should give this offense fits.

Gets a lot of ground balls. Changes speed a lot. Doesn't give up many long balls.

Well, if the next hitters after the guy who hit the double are Alex Cintron, Pete Orr, and the pitcher, I think I'd go with the out.

It doesn't matter.  I'm not saying that every inning.  Just an inning once in awhile.  It won't matter, because our bullpen has to pitch 4 innings tonight.

We should have nothing to worry about Cabrera has had plenty of rest so that's one fresh arm in the bullpen.  :?
