They're hitting him well though. Patterson isn't fooling anyone tonight. Hopefully it doesn't catch up to us.

Belliard really LOOKS out of shape but his fielding last night and just now is OUTSTANDING!

Since we are playing the METS, I was hoping to see a NEW AVATAR for metssucks.  (Hint, hint.)

The radio team reported in the pre-game show that the Nationals were 5-9 at the Mets' stadium last year.
Lightning math = a winning record there.  (Mets suck.)

Yeah sportsfan I think you're right. His fastball seems to be a little slower than it has been in the past.

It's not fair to place any part of the blame on Frank Robinson. His name shouldn't even come up in the discussion.

No, don't get me wrong.  I was just remember when there was a lot of concern that he brought him back too soon and I seem to remember it was a cold rainy evening.  There was a lot of debate about all those circumstances together hurting JP more.  I wasn't trying to place blame, I was just asking if that event/decision could have done some longer term damage than anyone ever imagined.

His pitch count has to be under 40.

Yeah but it's always easy to find other people to blame for failure. And even if that had anything to do with his current performance there were a lot more people involved in that decision, including Patterson, Bowden, the team physicians, etc. I think that was said to find an excuse for Patterson by his apologists and by those who despised Robinson for whatever reason.

I also don't believe that being the "ace" is too much pressure for him. I think we just need to give JP a little time to get back into the groove.

ok, that makes sense.  I do remember the 1st Nats game I went to was like April 15/16 or something like that in the first season in DC.  The weather was awful, cold and rainy.  Patterson was pitching against the Braves and we lost.  :(  Maybe he isn't as good as everyone has been touting?  I mean, good enough, but not "ace" good.

Its okay, Church.  You'll bomb a ball over the fence in your next at bat.
