Agreed.  Nobody on either team would leave the pen if it was an automatic suspension.

For a team that is terrible and as classless as the Cubs they sure do get a lot of calls from this umpire crew.

Werth drew a walk earlier tonight with bases loaded on a pitch way inside and the umpire bailed out the Cubs' pitcher who couldn't throw a strike.

And that called strike 3 to Harper just now was questionable at best.

Supposedly (according to Charlie and Dave) a punch was thrown (at Desmond).  Probably the catcher.

The bench can empty, they are far closer to the action anyway.  The bullpen pitchers heading into the action just looks silly.

Both pitches touching the strike zone according to pitch f/x... unless it's biased against the Nats, as well.
