Fab Boz, now raise a ruckus about MASN $$$ before the trade deadline is upon us.

Loved the organ instead of the be canned music tonight, allowed me to be heard on the field.  After the Desmond HR I called out "back to back",  then when some guys started chanting "lets go Nats", I chanted "back to back"as loud as I could.  When Espi hit his dinger I got high fived like it had been me that hit it out.

I feel like an idiot, i stopped paying attention to the game in the 7th.  Maybe our best win all year?  This team is becoming unstoppable.

Didn't get to post during the game (busy buying an iMac <3), but I'll say it now.

What a game! So many clutch hits toward the end. No quit. Awesome.

Awsome game.  Btw,  last play; 2nd basemen wasnt ANYWHERE NEAR THE BAG!  If LaRoche had been out, Id argue that it WAS NOT A DOUBLE PLAY!

I say this win is all because of Wilbur! Step forward, Wilbur! You're our good luck charm!

I just want to thank all the things that made this possible! Various beers, whiskey, papa johns pizza, you all get a shout out!

Oh, and the three rookies facing the closer that had clutch ABs that really made this happen.

GREAT god damn win boys! GO NATS!!!!

Wilbur should DEFINITELY use a picture of Mister Ed for his WNFF avatar!

:D Appreciate it, but I'm thinking a different road when going with Wilbur.

From CSN Bay Area:

Quote
“These guys are hot right now. They’re all swinging the bat well and finding ways to win together. They’re going to be tough for these guys in the East, having to play this team.”, said Cain.

Theriot said the Nationals are every bit as good as the Rangers and Angels, who most players agreed are the two best clubs the Giants have faced this season.

"Seems every reliever we faced had a one-ERA," Theriot said.

Amazing game tonight! I know I'm late posting, but I had to watch the game at work, but it was damn worth it. I screamed when the throw was botched at first and we won the game. Just amazing. Great time to be a National.

You know what would be cool...

If next year, Desmond continues to mash and Espinosa reaches his potential...

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 48th win, each season:

2005 - 1st July (79th match of season)
2012 - 5th July (80th match)
2011 - 18th July (96th match)
2006 - 1st August (107th match)
2007 - 2nd August (108th match)
2010 - 4th August (108th match)
2008 - 27th August (133rd match)
2009 - 10th September (140th match)

---

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Tuesday 5th July 2005 saw the Nats rebound from their Fourth of July flop with a 3-2 win over the Mets - Loaiza out-duelled Pedro Martinez and Cordero picked up his 30th save...record now 51-32...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250705120

---

Anyone think the Giants don't miss Brian Wilson?

---

We've got to run the table on the Rockies this weekend...anything less would be quite a let-down after this sweep of the Giants.

Giants message board pic below :lmao:

I'm sure they loved running their #'s 1, 2 and 3 pitchers out against our 3,4,5 and getting whipped.

ATTENDANCE at this match: 29,819   [...]

...just 46 short of our Nats-Park-best season average of 29,865.

On the way home yesterday there were a couple of chaps who had bet each other a beer on the attendance - one of them won by picking 29,880, missing by just 61 (not sure what the other one's pick was).

---

This is our fifth home series this season to draw an aggregate 100,000+ (all 3-match series except as noted):

129,034   Reds, 12th-15th April (4 matches including home opener)
124,135   Yankees, 15th-17th June
120,927   Orioles, 18th-20th May
106,931   Phillies, 4th-6th May
102,610   Giants, 3rd-5th July

In keeping with Game 7, 1924. See http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/WS1/WS1192410100.shtml

Nats catcher Muddy Ruel hits a pop foul behind the plate. Giants' catcher stumbles on the mask he had tossed behind himself. Ruel hadn't hit much all series but gets a double. (Walter Johnson walked?). Earl McNeely hits a grounder at the Giants SS, a great fielder named Freddie Linstrom. The ball takes a miracle hope over Linstrom's head...Nats win the Game and the WS in the 12th.

'The good Lord just couldn't stand to see a nice fellow like Walter Johnson lose again'

- from a commentator at the time

Linty:

If you can, go back and watch a few deliveries from that closer we faced last night (Casilla?).  Does he balk on every delivery?  He had this little uptick on his back leg before he moved his front leg to go to the plate.  I swear he balked on every pitch last night.

What a great game last night! I almost quit watching because it just seemed like the Giants were going to blow it open. Everything they hit found a hole, it was insane. A year ago I'd have turned it off, this year? We find ways to win as opposed to finding ways to lose like we have in previous years. God I love this team! I almost hope at this point we don't make an in season addition as it seems like the chemisty in the clubhouse is amazing. These guys really seem to love playing together and I'd hate to mess that up.
