Why in the world would the Redsox want Hanley and Heath Bell?

1. They get rid of the Crawford contract
2. Hanley can kind of play shortstop, which has not been performing well for them
3. They need bullpen help and Bell can't be as bad as his numbers
4. Hanley was originally their prospect.

Sources:There is no current discussion involving Crawford and Hanley Ramirez/Heath Bell. Was brought up briefly as concept, immediately died.

If that's what he's saying, I believe the opposite

Now this broski is saying the Fish are shopping Infante.

Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale
The #Marlins also in trade talks with the #Tigers about sending Omar Infante back to Detroit where he can play second base. #MLB

Hey, as long as the Fish are in full-on operation "return to sender" and sending Hanley and Infante back to where they came, what about getting Bonifacio back as a backup IF/stand-in white whale?

The Sox would just be trading one disappointing headache for another. I can't see this happening.

Infante to Detroit makes much more sense.

I know Hanley is hated here, but I'd like to have him at 2B or SS.

crawford isn't a headache, but he hasn't lived up to his contract performance-wise.

the sawx have been enamored with hanley ever since they parted ways with him.

I would too

I think that Crawford/Hanley+Bell deal would be more of an offseason thing

Let's just find a team with a good player whose contract is a little too much for them and just give them $50 million and a turd prospect to take that contract off their hands!

Another tweet from this guy. He's on a roll.

If the #Marlins do decide they're out of it, Anibal Sanchez and Josh Johnson also will go. #Braves have expressed interest in Sanchez.

Great player. Bad teammate.

He can continue to pimp his home runs down in South Beach. Pass.

Johnson is damaged goods, sadly. He's lost a ton of velocity. His value is way down.

Why would the Marlins trade in their own division?

Not all headaches are created equally

Way underperforming a huge contract is a headache for Boston

and I don't see anyway Hanley would be successful in that Boston environment

That's true, Valentine looks to be a failed experiment,

but I don't think that has anything to do with Crawford, he's just a bad fit for Boston

FTFY

His moods and motivation issues are what make him a bad teammate.

Keep this thread focused on Nats trades.  The break up of the Marlins has little to do with this thread.
