Zimmerman is chasing that first pitch curve ball why???? Does he even care?
He had been staring at first pitch fast balls down the middle for awhile, so Eckstein probably told him that.  So now he's swinging at anything.

He's good with the glove, so like Harper, he'll just concentrate on that now, like Harper.

FIRE RICK ECKSTEIN

I've given up fighting that battle.  Heaven forbid the HITTING COACH should be held accountable for the offense sucking.  The guy must have naked pics of Rizzo.

We should probably play Lombo at 3B and see what's wrong with Zim. This is pathetic.

Somebody needs to be fired when your 3,4 and 5 hitters produce a four pitch inning.

Don't you have a car to wash, trouble maker?

I did it.    She's lookin' pretty too.    Like Marvin Gaye said, "You can be sure of three things  ...  death, taxes and trouble."    Might as well create it rather than wait on it to find you.   :)

Eckstein can't be fired.  I wish I had his job.

Shame that this series should be 1-1.  Gonna get swept.

You can't have guys in the lineup just saying "freak it, i can't hit. let me just ignore that part of my game and only try to play good defense". Eckstein has gotta go.

I was just making sure one of the topics of every gameday thread wasn't overlooked.

He made a mess of his ankle earlier this season. He is on the shelf until late August/September.

Arod-Tex-Cano up here to put the game away. Nats had their chances to seize a nice lead, couldn't do it just like yesterday.

Meanwhile the Yankees get chances to pad their lead 8 out of 9 innings. The offense is offensive.

Laying on a couch watching TV. I'd be surprised if he plays any this year in the Minors.

They DFA'd Lidge.  That counts, since he was getting paid $1 million.

Gorz has not gotten much credit for his stellar season.  Aside from that one bad outing against Houston, he has been pretty damn good.

His average down to .230 on the season, Ryan Zimmerman now has the highest ground ball to fly ball ratio of his career.

He has been reduced to a powerless singles hitter who doesn't even get many singles either. :?

At least we are due for at least five or six runs off Nova.

Why are we pitching to Cano again?

Gorz loves serving 'em up. Our bullpen is pitiful.

thankfully the NL East isn't as good as many expected so we're still 4 games up on 2nd place even with this loss

Fastball right down the middle. Getting behind in the count, you are going to get beat every time by this Yankees team.
