Too bad John Lannan 2012 is AAA cannon fodder.

Yeah, there's really not much to suggest John Lannan 2012 could do better than this.

I don't get the obsession with Wang. If you are willing to pay Lannan $5 million to rot at AAA, might as well cut Wang and he's $4 million. I really don't get it.

He was looking good towards the end of spring training with his old velocity and keeping the ball down.

I'd guess that this is his last start.

Probably not worse than 3IP, 5 ER. freaking pathetic. I'd rather have Maya, yeah I said it.

Detwiler still gets the job first, I hope.

His velocity still looks fine. Touched 93 with his sinker tonight. He just doesn't have the command to succeed despite the stuff. We don't have the time to let him figure it out up here. We are in a Division race with 4 other good teams. We need quality.

96 mph lefty, mid 3 ERA, wow he sucks for a #5.

i love Gio but we traded away some solid young arms for him, if we could have held one of Milone or Peacock we aren't having this discussion imo

He wouldn't throw this hard as a SP. Maybe 91-94. Still he's an upgrade over Wang with some upside. Det is a 4.25 ERA pitcher as a starter with the upside of a 3.50-3.75 ERA pitcher if he throws strikes.

(Image removed from quote.)

Here are my options for the #5 spot:

1. Detwiler
2. Lannan

100000. Maya
100001. Wang

a 4.25 ERA is fine for a #5 pitcher if he can go 6IP; especially with the rest of our rotation.

Peacock has a 5.67 ERA in AAA. Milone has a 4.48 ERA as Oakland SP. I'd rather have Gio. We just need Detwiler or Lannan to be given the chance

The offense is going dead into the night after a good start. Disappointing.

I think Milone is more like a 3.50 ERA pitching in the NL East, the dude is pitching against the rangers and angels and has already pitched twice against the red sox

Poor LaRoche, he didn't deserve that. Just a good play by Price.
