How can anybody be optimistic about how this team is playing right now? Even if, by some miracle, the team wins tonight, very little will be changed. This team is struggling to win games, period, winning consecutive games seems to be beyond them at this point in the season.
And, yes, it will likely take a miracle for the Nationals to win a game started by John Lannan against the Phillies.
I'm not really a LoD or SS. I'm more of an optimistic realist. Realistically, the way this team is playing now, I fully expect them to flameout of the remainder of the regular season and lose the wild card game to the Cardinals. Optimistically, God, I hope I'm wrong because being right about this might be more than I can take.
