Ted Lilly (P)

Nook Logan (CF)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Dmitri Young (1B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Ryan Church (LF)
Felipe Lopez (SS)
Brian Schneider (C)
Jason Simontacchi (P)
________________________________________________

Lilly picked up the win in his last outing against the Rockies. He gave up four runs on six hits and five walks over six innings while striking out five. The lefty did throw 113 pitches, and the Cubs would like to see him get his pitch count down. But he made pitches when he had to and got out of trouble.

It was nice bounce-back outing for Simontacchi last Sunday. After giving up a team-record 10 runs against the Tigers on June 19, Simontacchi pitched six solid innings and gave up just one run on four hits against Cleveland. The lone run was a home run hit by Franklin Gutierrez in the fifth inning.

Damn it, I'm conflicted...Aramis and Ted Lilly are on my fantasy team in what is a super-important fantasy game...and of course I've gotta root for my Nationals.

pathetic.. That's what happens when you stupidly walk batters.  Simontacchi better pitch 5 more scoreless innings..

Here's my theory.  They tell Zimmerman to play away from the line so he has more ground to cover, since he's a great defenseman.  And vice versa for Young.

if this team wants a chance to win the game... Giving up 2 runs in the first normally isn't a big deal but when your offense averages only 3 runs a game the game is close to over.

They have averaged more than that, but who's counting, obviously you aren't
