The D-backs have put any of the trade Upton rumors to bed with the trade of Chris Young.
And of the Kubel/Parra duo, it makes more sense for them to deal Kubel, so there is another CF option likely to be removed from consideration.

Also, Adam Eaton impressed during his call up. Especially his range in center. He'll probably start out as a fourth outfielder and work his way in.

I don't.

Is Moore trying to clear room to play Myers?  Can he only play left?

I think I've heard him mentioned as their future right fielder

Meyers has actually played the most games in CF so who knows. Started out as a catcher

DBacks also have AJ Pollock - another prospect they probably want to find playing time for.

They probably aren't done making trades.

They can always cut Francoeur loose.

that'd make sense but I think they love the French.

Having a historically bad season might change their feelings.

Time to dust off the Bourjos rumors from last year?  Bourjos was again fantastic in the field - posted a ridiculous 15.9 UZR in only 100 games.  The offense sucked, but he can probably be passable at the plate.

Eh, never mind.  Probably better options out there in free agency.

I'd love Bourjos. I want a glove first center fielder if we move Morse. If we're concerned about offense then just keep Morse since he has the ability to smack 30 homers next season.

And we may be winning, but let's not turn into douchey fans who think struggling teams will give us their best players for little value. Acting like the Royals would give us Alex Gordon for Detwiler and a couple scrubs is unrealistic. I'm Detwiler's biggest WNFF advocate and even I'd be embarrassed if Rizzo tried to offer Det for Gordon.

I keep forgetting how potent this offense is. We'll have what, at least 5 starters who COULD smack 25-30+ HRs provided they (LaRoche, Morse, Desi, Harper, Zimmerman) stay healthy? At least one bench player (Moore) who could too if he had the ABs?

It is stunning what this offense can do, and has done, when they are pumping on all cylinders. It will be interesting to see what "tweaks" will do it as well. Much better than the first half of 2012.

I'd prefer to strike a balance - someone like Victorino or Pagan.  They may not be all-world defenders, but they are competent in the field and can swing the bat a little bit too.  They could probably be signed for a couple of years to hopefully bridge the gap to Goodwin.

Why are we trying to move Harper off of CF?  He was 19 having played the position for less than a year and was already starting to look like an elite CF.  why move him to a corner?  Leave him there.  Leave Werth in RF.  We've been searching for that complete CF and we've got him and he's going to put up corner offensive numbers.  It makes more sense to me to address LF, not fill a hole that's not there in CF and we might have a couple (or more) in house options in LF as it is.

eh.  victorino wants a multi-year deal so i'd stay away from him.  pagan could be a nice addition cuz he'd come on a relatively cheap 1 year deal.

Coco Crisp's two year, $14 million with a $7 million team option for a third year would make sense, although the third year might have to be guaranteed.

there is no chance pagan gets 3 years gauranteed.

This is probably an acceptable solution if they get a short term, good fielding and good hitting LF.  But there are so many good CF options out there this offseason so it would cost less to pick one of them up.

Maybe the Pirates would give us McCutchen and Hanrahan for Clippard and Morse   ;)
