Yup. K'd Church and then got two ground outs. That's 3 Ks for JZ so far

All outs have been strikeouts or groundballs for him so far.  Very encouraging.

EDIT:  I checked last game's box score.  Zimmermann pitched 2 innings, 3 SO and 3 ground outs.

If everyone else keeps pitching well and Cabrera keeps sucking he should not get a spot. Hell, even Martis is out pitching him.

I'd like to keep the pitcher on the right of your sig in the rotation and bump out the guy on the left.

LOL it was one start haha and he gave up 1 earned run.  But I will say that if D-Cab has a sucky spring, they shouldn't make any special exception for him, they should give it to the guys that deserve it.

He's allowed more runs in 2 innings than Martis, Lannan, JZ, and Balester have allowed combined in 17 innings.

yeah let's patterson his ass after giving up one earned run!  I just said if he has a sucky spring and there are 5 more capable starters than, I agree, he had his chance and he f'd up let's move on.  But dude you need to take off the blinders, he has made one start with just one earned run.  I'll be the first one to say get his ass out if he sucks, but like I said, it's one damn start and it wasn't the worst outing of all-time.

  • Hell yes!
It's great to seeread second and third hand accounts of Nick hammering the ball this well this early.  Honestly I did not expect him to be up to his usual standards until perhaps May, but maybe he's ahead of my schedule, and maybe he's got Eckstein's magic mojo going for him.

EDIT:  Fixed.

NJ is increasing his trade value rapidly. Showing that he is healthy and hitting for power.

Deal him at high value or take a risk and play him at 1B hoping he stays healthy?
