Memo to Rizzo, for 2013, find a catcher who can call a good game, throw out base stealers and hit .300.

'k?

You're an idiot.  There hasn't been one in history other than Josh Gibson.

MORON.

Watching the rest of the game from the bottom of the 7th. Waiting for that offensive explosion I missed.

No sign of any injury

I feel like the Nats are pushing the envelope on fake injuries.

I went to Fangraphs and found all the catchers who, in 4000+ plate appearances, maintained a batting average over .300. They are: Joe Mauer, Mickey Cochrane, Bill Dickey, Deacon White, Spud Davis, Mike Piazza, King Kelly, Ernie Lombardi, Victor Martinez, and Buck Ewing.

Of these, two are active: Joe Mauer and Victor Martinez. In 2012, Joe Mauer has caught 11.9% of baserunners (5/42), an almost identical line to Jesus Flores (5/45). In his last full season, 2010, Victor Martinez caught 21.6% of baserunners. This is well below average.

The player you want does not exist. QED.

Pudge didn't have the average, but he's still the best of this generation and probably only second to Bench.

Keep going.

Gonzalez throws a CG (9 hits)
Bambi - 3 hits over 7
Jackson - 2 hits over 5.1

that's 18 hits over 33.1 innings.

Not bad for a batting practice pitcher and a guy that's not an ace.

Sure, of course.  I was just thinking that Zimmnn goes out and spreads 3 over 6, and all of our conversations around his #1 acedom, and then Stras goes out and 2 ups him, as if to say, "hey, don't forget about me guys".

But it's been a spectacular turn through the rotation.  Damn shame we don't have that all-important rotational depth the Braves have.

Never worry about the other teams, just watch the Nats play.  Can't control the Braves unless you play them.

How can I not worry when they NEVER lose.  NEVER.  How are we going to hold them off?  We lose sometimes.  The Braves don't!  DOOOOOOOMED!

It doesn't matter, the Braves will never lose again. Never. Even after the sun burns out and the earth is pulled a black hole, the Braves will go on winning
