I watched a youtube of Harry James doing a cover of Green Onions with Buddy Rich and it kind of reminded me of listening to Mick Jagger.  I was listening to XM last night, on one of the current channels, and a newer Stones song came up that initially sounded like the good old Stones tunes.  Then I realized the tune could have been almost anything they recorded over the past 30 years in that it followed the formula and Jagger sang it the same way he sings everything he's put out since 1982 or so.  He probably had a song about the Falklands that sounded like the song he did about Gulf War 1 that sounded like this one and a few others.  This Harry James tune was somewhat interesting, and I don't listen to too much Harry James, but it sounded like he was putting it through a formula.

I own the instrumental version of their first album. Not really my taste, but it's pretty good. There is a reason I have the instrumental version though: their vocalist sucks. Mediocre hardcore screams and overproduced cleans that sound like an eight year old boy being sodomized by a football coach.

Oooh, sounds fun - I always preferred the live versions of their songs. Most of the CDs my dad bought were the live recordings, and he played them whenever we were on a road trip... which was quite often.

Can the word "schmaltzy" be used for a Dropkick Murphys song?  If so, then Rose Tattoo qualifies.

I like every song they've ever done. But I love Devin Townsend, TesseracT, Scale The Summit, all the new super proggy metal bands.

I am. Who knows what sort of crazy crap I'd make if I were a musician like Townsend. I'd probably write power ballads about Lego or something.

Never thought I'd see the day when I listened to Iggy Pop.    I like a Captain Morgan's Black rum on occasion.   I particularly like the commercial where they're partying with a designated rower.   It's almost a PSA for responsible drinking/driving     .....  "I Am The Passenger" by Iggy Pop and the Stooges is the background track.

It's the Folk Music Scare of the 2010s. I'm keeping my head down until it burns itself out.
