Why the hell would you even swing at the knuckleball, he hasn't been getting it close to the strikezone.  That was a pretty pathetic at-bat.

Didn't realize LaRoche struck out 172 times last year.

Didn't believe the Mets announcers so I had to look it up.

Loved the deflation sound the Mets fans made when Werth caught that ball.

Far from it after only 3 innings.

Man, I wonder how many times he will make it to the 7th inning this year.  Don't get me wrong, he has pitched great today and I love it, but we need our starters to be able to go deeper in games.  I am hoping his pitch counts will improve with some more experience and as the season progresses, but it also seems like the Nats are going to baby him (with a somewhat reasonable cause).

Man, four walks by Dickey through three. I'm not sure if games like these are worth the pure perfection of a kunckleballer when he's having an "on" game or not. Sure seems like for Dickey, at least, he's been having more and more games like this as time goes on. He has a brilliant start and middle of last year, but he's returning to the Dickey of old. Good news for us today, at least. And Zimmermann is lights out so far. A shame we are wasting such a good pitching performance on a game where even Gaudin could win if he started. You know things are going to get real ugly for the Mets in the fourth or fifth before Dickey is mercifully pulled. If that doesn't happen, we really, really suck offensively. This has to turn into a blowout considering the type of day Dickey is clearly going to have.
