Too early to take Maya out?  I say no.

Just forfeit the game.. and the next TWO games.  The manager, pitching coach, and pitching staff are utterly incompetent when it comes to facing Pujols.  Nix should not be on the bench, not as long as Ankiel is starting.

1st   A Pujols homered to left, R Theriot scored.

Cardinals  2
Nationals  0

Maya has some decent stuff. He can serve a role. Obviously not front line starter. Bigger problem is thinking his mediocre stuff is going to dominate Pujols.

Well maybe he can work on that in florida extended spring training and then AAA.  He's not a major league pitcher.

Batting Maya 8th. Why doesn't Riggs just blow LaRussa on the mound.

His fastball is like Livan's, but his offspeed stuff is not as good, so he looks like a bum.

Is it just my imagination or does it look like Zimmerman lost some weight?

I think you may be right, but that may be deliberate in an attempt to reduce the chance of injury.

He has.  And that's tough when his injury was his abs.

Pretty impressive.

It's the exact same throw as always.

No clue what Carpenter is talking about.
