Billy Traber, LHP (3-1, 5.49)..... @ ..... Anibal Sanchez, RHP (4-2, 3.70)

In his last start, Traber lasted 5 2/3 innings and gave up five runs -- four earned -- on six hits. He is looking to win his third consecutive game since being called up from Triple-A New Orleans earlier in the month. Traber will face the Marlins for the first time in his career.

Splendid in his last outing, Sanchez settled for a no-decision at the Dodgers. The rookie right-hander gave up just three hits in six scoreless innings. While Sanchez has not won in four straight outings, he has been solid in his last three starts. In those three games, he is 0-1, giving up four earned runs in 18 innings. This will be Sanchez's third appearance against Washington, where he is 1-0 with two no-decisions.

Lineups TBA, thread locked until closer to game time.

He locked it because it was too early at the time he started the thread.  Let's just post the GD thread here.  Awful first inning.  Two 1 pitch outs

The Nats just have to be patient and wear Sanchez down.  He's only durable for about 60-75 pitches.

Though that was a terrible inning.

If past performance is any indication, the only way we're going to beat Sanchez is to drive up his pitch count and get him out of the game.  That objective is not met, if you have two first pitch outs!!!

How often is the first pitch a batter sees, the best pitch a batter will see?

Chief, you've really been slacking off!  Two straight days with no thread, so I have to post it, then a locked thread!

Traber has shown the past couple days why he should be in the rotation next year, and for the rest of this year.

A nice K/CS DP.

Anyone see the Marlins 2-5-4 (covering 1st) DP yesterday.  LaRoach of the Braves hit into a DP where the ball was thrown 217 feet.
