FP just said Wang has hit a wall. Both outs have been lucky: Gee's failure to bunt and Ankiel's stellar outfield assist.

Interesting to compare Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling. They don't think Wang is pitching badly.

Keith H has been arguing that hitters are being mis-taught to take the first pitch, to take pitches to run up pitch count. "OB% is important, but it depends on the situation. If you have Ricky Henderson, you have him jump on a first-pitch fastball". They were grumbling about a decision the inning before when Mets hitter takes a 3 - 1 fastball for a strike, runner on second, and number 8 hitter on deck. "If you see a fastball, you swing because the 3 - 2 pitch might be harder to hit."

Ah, the Good Guys.   :)    Did you ever go to Clancy's when it was in that neighborhood?

Deal. Avatar bet for 3 months. Winner is decided when either Wang retires or Wang pitches for another team other than the Nats in the Majors.

Maybe sportsnyan thinks Wang is SO good that he'll be a Nat for years :mg:

Me too.   Hell, I was in the car and Rizzo was on the radio with Charlie.   I knew then something was whack.

Rizzo made it sound pretty likely that Wang is a Nat next year.

Nyanfan would be the only one complaining.

Yes he did.    Nats2 had a good summary.

I'm okay with giving him a chance out of ST next year.  Dave and FP had a good point that going down 2-0 would not be a big deal if he was still with the Yankees.

Wang will probably pitch decent and be dealt in July for salary relief just in time to reallocate the money to sign draft picks.  :lmao:

6th   R Ankiel doubled to deep left center, I Desmond scored.

Nationals  1
Mutts      2

Rizzo has become the ad hoc color analyst for tonight's radio broadcast.

That ain't no lie.   :)

The ladies at GG's were always of a higher class than Clancy's.
