oh grow up.

You learn to play the game by playing the game, let him play the game and quit worrying about how many batting helmets or bats he buys or how big of a fine he's racked up in the club house.

Bryce knows how to play the game. What he needs is more time to grow up. He's been the wonderkid his whole life, if I was Davey and had to deal with a tantrum when I hit for a player, I'd do one of 2 things: 1- have a talk with him and then have him sit next to the bench coach for a game, or have a veteran like Werth talk to him  and have him sit on the bench next to a vet like Chad Tracy.

Either way, tantrums show a lack of respect and would earn you a 1 game rip in my clubhouse.

He needs to mature but his play is not the problem right now.  The team is in a funk - starting pitchers suddenly not as sharp, middle of the batting order in a slump, defensive mistakes which usually are not present showing up, bad base-running and our pitchers letting the opposition steal bases at will.  These mistakes are what's hurting us.  Bryce should continue doing what he's doing minus the temper.

Anyone remember who was pitching in that infamous 'Beer Truck making Frank cry" game?

our pitchers letting the opposition steal bases at will.

This thread can be locked now.  First multi-home run game.  Decent defense in center.  Here to stay forever.

We overreacted, the talent is too great. :worship:

It was never about his ability. It was about his maturity. He isn't not mentally and emotionally ready for MLB

I'd be okay with sending him down ONLY if we had someone clearly superior to replace him.  Since we don't, leave him where he is.

As I said earlier, he's not the problem.  In fact, he's part of the solution.

Right.   Plenty of upside in that bat.

Never said anything to the contrary. We're not talking about any of his talents or skills. We're talking about his inability to handle failure with even a bit of maturity and udnerstanding. You simply can't go busting up things in the clubhouse because you struck out.

Nor do you send him down for that.  We need him on the major league field, not in the minors.  Sending him down would be very disruptive at this point.

Right. I asked who PA would replace Bryce with on page one. Too bad PA doesn't respond in his own thread. Troll thread, I guess.

So irresponsible and immature behavior is acceptable so long as ... you're producing? Because, until tonight, Bryce Harper really hasn't produced anything Bernadina couldn't.

Who said it's acceptable?  Is sending him down the only remedy?

No, it isn't.

Then bench him. Either way.

And you did. You said we "need" him on the field. Does his behavior off the field matter?
