 that Stanton/Jesus joke has really taken off since Eso started it

If I'm not mistaken, our losing streak and impossibly horrible bad luck coincided with Eso's posting of that sacrilegious, blasphemous gigantic thread on MLB-Nationals.  Since we haven't heard from Eso since his trip from Chicago, I guess we can assume the the earth opened up and swallowed him whole.  Meanwhile Stanton bats...

Schneider has been hitting the ball hard lately but hasn't been very lucky.

Actually I think he said that during the series we lost against the Phils right before we went on a tear against Baltimore and others, so in reality he said it right before our best winning streak ;)

We shoulda hit off of that pitcher, he's terrible.  I have a feeling we are going to need more.  We have used most of our pen.  Maybe Chief can pitch 2 innings today?

In that case, Our Lord Saver, William Michael Stanton, returns for another inning, as the Nationals decide to pursue the remainder of 2006 using relief pitchers only.  All starters will be traded in July.  Stanton will start the next game.

They need to get Khalil Greene a better fitting uniform...  he looks like a 12-year old girl in that oversized getup he's wearing.

Khalil Greene is a machine against us and below average against every other team.

No one would believe us if we told them our pick-off of a runner on 1st base meant that he was tagged out at 2nd base.  We wanted to wear him out a little first, for fun.  Never Mess with an alleged Messiah.

Really?  Judging by the way he plays against us, I would've thought he was one of the best active shorts in the game :?

And Saint Michael of the Leftie Slop delivers another divine relief appearance (He works in mysterious ways and only put Gonzalez on so he could be picked off and Greene has obviously sold his soul to the devil to get that hit :)

Please score some more runs.  We're skating on extremely thin ice with the amount this bullpen has been used!

Khalil is batting .242, 11 HR, 45 RBI.  Not spectacular

As we speak, Bowden is entertaining desperate trade offers from the Padres GM for William Michael-the Archangel Stanton.  Bowden, who is wearing a Stanton medal around his neck, smiles and says, "Have you had mechanical problems with your team's plane?  We can fix that."

Vidro gets his standard only-can-hit-with-nobody-on hit.
