Bosh was in the same position. He could've gone anywhere he wanted.
The point still stands - the Heat would have signed 2-3 good-great-elite players that summer, or have traded for Deron/Howard/CP3/someone because they had the assets (picks, expiring contracts, cap space) to make it happen.
