We wasted way too many opportunities to score in this game.

Missing all of these scoring opportunities is not going to go unpunished.

this is what the Nationals get for babying the starters in the Minors. Bally was never pushed 6-7 innings consistently in AAA this season. was generally taken out after 5 innings.

He's only thrown 73 pitches. ideally you'd want him to go 7-8 but he has fallen apart.

I understand but they did want him to have MLB innings so they did save some for now. Not a bad outing but I know he wanted to get through 6 innings.

Too quickly? Are you kidding?  Have you seen how many runners we've left on base?  I've held on for five innings!

Why would our situational hitting be better now than it's been all game?

this is what the offense gets for doing zilch all day against a pitcher they should have torched.

Bergmann showing himself to be a fraud. refuses to throw his best pitch. just because he is better than the rest of the donks in the pen doesn't mean he is good.

balester was great for five, shame he fell apart in the 6th.

it's beyond me how alberto gonzalez is still on this roster.  he's austin kearns/damian jackson bad.

This is the kind of game that separates the Nationals from regular bad teams.  This is the kind of game that makes the Royals better than us.

The Royals would have won this game.  >:(

The Royals are head and shoulders above this Nationals team.

The Nats are losers and are incapable of winning games that they should win.

Because it's baseball.  Gallardo's outta there now.  A change in pitchers could mean a change in luck.  We've got enough fire power to make up 2 or 3 or 4 runs.  I've seen them do it before, against this very team in fact.

No they're not.  I watched the Royals in person this weekend.  They current Royals are worse than the current Nats.

the season record is what matters and the Nationals will comfortably finish with the worst record.

This Nationals team does not know how to win. Need a complete overhaul in the off-season. Too many losers.

Few teams would have squandered the number of opportunities we did today, including the Royals.

Dibble killing Balester.

says our pitchers panic when they get into trouble instead of showing guts and pitching out of jams.

That may be, but if the Nats and Royals were matched up in a series right now, I'd take the Nats.  I think by the end of the year though, the Royals will have fallen below us.
