We need a rally towel to stick to one of our guys and ducks to invade the bullpen.

Updated.  The Rockies called up a phenom, from AA, who will now start his path to Cy Young glory against the Nats.

wow, he has been really good but I'm surprised the Rockies are throwing him into their rotation. Seems premature and a drastic move. What is there to gain? They are out of the playoff hunt.

as i said in last night's thread ... this guy gave up like 15 homers in 98 innings in AA.  we should destroy him.

Anyways, that's bad news for the Nats. New pitcher, good raw stuff. Let's hope we don't get Chris Archered again.

What are the Rockies thinking putting guys like Frederich and Cabrera in their rotation? Incredibly stupid. Not only are they wasting their service time in a meaningless season but they could also set back their development.

if you look at Frederich's numbers, he had two starts where he was just flat out awful (8 runs) ... three where he was not that good (4-5 runs) ... the remaining five were very good.  i like him and his stuff, he'll be fine.

Last night on MLB Network, one of the guys said he believes the reason Bob Apodaca (the pitching coach for COL who just resigned) walked away is because he doesn't agree one bit with the 4 man, 75 pitch rotation. It absolutely kills these young kids confidence, and hinders their development greatly.

I think the Rockies announcers call it the "piggy back" pitching plan. Showed some stats last night that suggested it had worked...then said, "well, not tonight", after their RP gave up the three-run HR to Moore.

I'm guessing he wouldn't. I'm waiting for Kemp to receive a mysterious white powder in the mail for daring to exclude Harper from the derby.
