I was able to do a few things well, others not.  Inconstent shooter, poor range.  But I was very fast and able to bring the ball up against a press.  While 18-20 years old, I played in a mens league in Suitland, Md for 3 seasons.  We were one of two white teams in the league - I think we won 3-4 games a season, but at least we weren't getting blown out much.  Our team was physically tough, but very slow, and needed me to handle the ball.  I would get the occasional tip and was a sneaky rebounder and ball hawk.

In 1 on 1, I tended to let people drive past me then try for the block, which isn't always the best strategy, but I just like blocking shots.

Yeah i was average shooter myself. While i can shoot tha three, i don't camp out there. I played for tha Pal(police athletic league)center of milwaukee. I played tha sf position mostly. My handles are average but i can bring it up but didn't like geettin pressed. it wasn't my job to bring it up. I was mostly there for defense, and rebounding. I'm not big(bulky) but i have long arms(freakishly long arms ppl and coaches have said) and i'm active and very energetic. I frustrated scorers before with my defense. Its pesky and relentless. And my coach showed me this way of defending shots where you stick your hand in front of tha shooters eyes when he's releasing. Shane Battier does this. I was a great perimeter defender, and good defender with a back against me, but ideally my coach didn't like seein me get backed down cuz of skinny frame. But i never backed down from anybody when they backed me down. I get a lotta blocks.

I'ma great rebounder too, and get a lotta putbacks. I'm good at tappin tha ball to myself. My body type is like a 5'11 version of Tayshaun Prince. I'd like to put on weight but nothin seems to work.

But yeah i can't dunk. i still have problems palming tha ball.

kimnat, do you watch any sport besides baseball(although that should be enuff to recognize).

Not everybody is perfect. We got demons in our past. Michael Jordan wasn't perfect either, ask his pops? I can find dirt in all four major sports(well not hockey cuz that sport is irrelevant to me; its also irrelevant to most of america it seems).

Hey, thanks for the potshot at hockey.

Hockey players are the cleanest players of the 4 major sports. Despite of course some bad eggs like Chris Simon and Bertuzzi, 99% of professional hockey players are great guys on and off the ice. It's true. You don't see steroids in hockey, you don't see Elijah Dukeses in hockey, you don't see spygate in hockey, and you don't see the thug attitude in hockey.

This whole story seems fishy. My opinion about Dukes hasn't changed.

Though you do see the occasional limo with underage girls, wasn't that the Dino Ciccerelli scandal?

Most people haven't changed their opinion of him, even after this.  And regardless of what some of our resident fanboys say, that is fine and people are entitled to their opinion.  He can change his whole situation by submitting to the counseling and "leadership" of Young, Larkin, and Acta, being available to the DC public and not be some shadowy figure a la Balco Bonds, actually speak to the public rather than having his mom, agent, or lawyer do it for him, and bring in a strong bat.

Until he does all that, he deserves as much worship as a bum living in a port-a-potty.

since we're all describing our basketball game, i'll give you a brief analysis.

i'm a three point specialist. if any of you know who mike miller / jason kapono are, that's me in the flesh. i would add a winking face but i'm dead serious. i'm more mike miller though, because i can take you off the dribble and get to the rim too. my handles have to be accounted for too, i've got an iverson-esque cross. alright, i can't continue to overrate my game like this

honestly, i am a 3 point pro. when i'm on, i'm on. i love that feeling of sinking a 3 with a hand in your face and your defender is just like wtf?! overall though, i'm an average baller.

Actually, I think the thread was going back to its original intention.  Why not go start a hoops thread in another section?

i actually think this tread has and should completely stray from the original intention seeing as the case was DISMISSED. the original intent was to discuss dukes new accusation, but seeing as how it was dismissed theres nothing to discuss.

Whichever one of Metssuck and Nat of the Living Dead files a restraining order against the other FIRST is the winner.  No other facts matter in those situations.

SHHHHH.  You can't post that, or 2k6nats will LOCK the thread.  (Don't get me started on Thread Lawyers...)

I'd like to see Dukes pursue criminal charges or a civil suit against the woman who stole his stuff.  He shouldn't let people think he's a pushover, and he doesn't have to threaten or use physical violence to make THEM abide by the law.  At the very least, he should file a police report, to establish a pattern of theft behavior by the woman, for when she does it again.

The hockey players in my HS were the scummiest per capita. Absolute degenerates. But from my end, that is my experience.  And I didnt go to a prep school either. My school frequently contended for the NY state title in the largest school class. And the hockey team sucked. So it is not like the the hockey team attracted the best athletes who thought they were above the law.  Complete wastes of space

Tomterp, what are you doing spending time fishing? Do that when you can't jump anymore.

Do some calf extensions in the gym for a couple weeks and you'll get rim again.  Maybe throw in some leg press too. Squats could be dangerous at this stage of the life cycle

So what does everyone's supposed "hoop skills", bad writing, etc. have to do with Elijah Dukes and whats more, the Nats themselves, exactly?
