How is it possible that Carpenter still gets excited about routine flyballs?

He's a moron.

I have no idea, it kills me though.  He gets me excited for a home run at least 10 times a game only to have it plop in shallow left or right field.  I just need to start ignoring him, it is ridiculous.

It's his job to be excited about something. It won't be stellar defensive play, it's rarely starting pitching, the bull pen blows, so...

Somehow Lannan gets a quality start out of all that.

A leadoff double by 360 would be real nice about now

Nope, he gave up four tuns assuming that first run was earned.

I will never put faith in the QS stat again after watching Cabrera get one the other night somehow.

3 ER, 4 R; throwing error on Johnson will stand

Moehler's ERA was 27, Bob, and you see what he did to us!

Houston's bullpen is trash.  We need to rally.  Guzie needs to step up.

They scored the pickoff play a CS with an error credited to Johnson. That means the run that scored is unearned because the one who eventually scored the run would not have been on base for what followed.

That's a bogus stat that helps pitchers when negotiating contracts. It also has sissy-fied pitchers so that now they are content being credited with a QS and can't/won't pitch deep into games. They should change the stat to be 6 IP 2 ER for NL games and 7 IP 3 ER for AL games.

I'd say 6, 2 for NL and 6, 3 for AL.

A pitcher who throws a quality start in EVERY one of his starts is a pitcher with a 4.50 ERA.

This reliever is throwing 90mph fastballs but has no control over where they go. We need to obliterate him.
