spider, I thought you of all people would be all over his statement that because he played college ball he has more baseball knowledge than someone who didn't play. (Image removed from quote.)

I didn't even see that statement. By the time I got here it had already happened and he must've edited his post. I didn't notice that until I went back and read SF's reply. However, you probably have me confused with another poster because I don't get irritated by people who imply that (although I don't completely believe that is true; however, having played competitive ball gives you a different perspective but does not make you more knowledgeable than some). In fact, you may recall that over the years some women have gotten irritated with me because I mentioned that the fact that they have never played real competitive hardball limits their understanding of the game.

Edit: I just realized that I replied to SF's post thinking all along that it was posted by JMad.  :?

The Padres' Aflac Trivia Question:

What 2 quarterbacks stopped Adam Dunn from playing college football at Texas?
Did they answer this yet?

Great way to resume the game.

First 2 batters out, they make Martin in to bat so to not have to burn a player off the bench already.  Goes 0-2, fouls off a bunch, and eventually draws a walk.  Goes to 3rd on a Morgan single, scores on a Guzman base hit.  Zimm walks, and Dunn hits the salami, all with 2 outs.

I'm glad Rizzo didn't give up on Clippard (like some posters) after his rough start following his promotion to the Majors.

He isn't perfect but I think he will be a very nice part of our pen now and in the future.

James Brown?

looking at some of their stats from those years, they had both Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes on the same team. wow

Yeah, I think he was the other one.  Applewhite was the QB at Texas something like 98-01.  I couldn't remember that other QB there.  But James Brown sounds right.  Those are about the years Dunn would have been there I think.

Those RB's came into Lincoln and Rickey Williams and Applewhite beat us breaking out home winning streak which had been going for about 8 years...

That's when I started hating Texas.

Player don't charge the mound anymore, Rob.  I have no idea why not.

They're all buddies now. It's either that or MLB is full of wusses.

I see you guys were picked to finish 1st in the Big 12 North preseason poll. Missouri losing Daniel and Maclin hurts them obviously.

Nebraska is fortunate to not be in the South with Texas, OSU, OU, etc.

so how do you think NU is going to do this year? who is going to start at QB?
