I'm positive they will both be back but I definitely don't see Perez back.
Why? I'd hate that. Both belong in the Minors as far as I'm concerned. I'm happy with Lannan, Balester and a slew of other young pitchers.

Does anyone know if, for instance, MASN gets to make use of the WGN cameras when they visit Wrigley field or if they have to set up their own equipment.  I would think they would use the home teams cameras, but I am not sure.
I think they use their own equipment. WGN had better views of the HR.

The wind can work both ways, SEE: yesterday.

Bergmann is pitching BP. If it weren't for the strong wind they'd have 4 or 5 bombs already.

That's what I hate about Jay, even if he is going to get outs, most of them are going to be warning track balls.  I just don't like flyball pitchers, unless the flyballs are all going behind the backstop.  Bergmann is something like 3 or 4th in the league in flyballs.

That'd be worse. You need vets in your rotation. You think some of our pitchers are A LOT worse than they really are. And you also give young players WAY too much credit.

Bergmann and Redding are mediocre. Can't stand them really, especially Redding. I wouldn't be opposed to us signing someone but I doubt the Lerners will shell out the dough.

Harden is good but he's not as impressive as I thought he'd be. We are only down 2 but it feels like we are getting blown out.

This is so true.  I have heard numerous hall of fame pitchers tell how much of their game came from veterans on the same staff as them.  Sutton on occasions has mentioned how much easier it would have been for him if he had someone like Greg Maddux mentoring him in the clubhouse.  While obviously we are not going to get a Maddux level pitcher, I still think you need at least one vet to extoll some knowledge on the younger guys.

Bergamnn would've done nicely pitching in Griffith Stadium.

Not if the vet sucks (See: Redding). I don't know who's available but surely there are better than Tim Redding.

Bergmann walks the lead-off batter. Pretty smart.

surprise, surprise.  Hill's return pushed back.  I would be really surprised to see him out there again this season.  I don't see the point of trying to have him pitch maybe once or twice more.  Just let him fully heal up over the off season and let him show his stuff in ST.

Quote
CHICAGO -- Nationals general manager Jim Bowden said on Sunday that right-hander Shawn Hill is not expected to pitch in a Major League game until the second week of September.

Hill is not making the quick progress the team was expecting when he started his throwing program last month. Washington was hoping that Hill would make it back by Sept. 1

He's been damn impressive, IMO. What more do you want him to do?

I think his pitches have been spot on today.  It looks like he let that HR to Kearns slip, but other than that he has been virtually unhittable.  While there has been contact, all the balls have peeled foul or ended up simple pop-ups/automatic grounders.

His stuff just isn't as dazzling as I thought it was. Whatever, of course he is owning us. Who doesn't? It's bad enough that he even gave up 1 run against our horrid offense.

They should shut him down until ST so that there is no longer any excuses about injuries exacerbated by coming back too quickly. If he has any type of setback in ST he needs to go the way of TRJPWH.
