Kearns sucks.

As for Hill, yeah just shut him down.  Someone made a good point a while back to convert him to a reliever.  That could be an intriguing option.

We will make the playoffs before they do. No doubt. They are so old it's crazy. Very little young talent.

I am going to agree with Ronny on this one.  I think the Orioles have a lot more going for them than us, at this point.  They actually have a really good farm system and were able to cash in on the Bedard trade last year.  The Nats and the Orioles are both in real tough divisions, so I think it is tough to say which team will make the playoffs first, but IMO the Orioles are in a much better position than us (I mean c'mon last place)

Who could they add? Maybe Espinosa? There isn't much in terms of pitching that they could call up from Hagerstown.

They can recall guys from Harrisburg, can't they?

They have plenty of young talent. Maybe not guys who were expected to be good, but they have some solid pitching prospects now. Plus, they have plenty of offense in the minors, and they'll have even more now that all of their vets have raised their value. Believe it or not, their farm system might be better than ours now.

The O's are a last place team too. They'll never finish ahead of the Yankees/Sox/Rays. Look at how mediocre the Mets/Phils are. They are old teams too. The NL East is up for grabs.

Alright, Zimm-Milledge-Belliard, lets do something this inning!

That was pitch nr 100 for Bergmann for 6 innings.

Beside the horrible 2nd inning, he has done worse.

a last place team (61-67), but not THE last place team (46-84).

quality start. Not great but not bad either. If we had any offense he'd probably be a winner.

Yeah, but do you really see them finishing ahead of the Yankees, R Sox and Rays any time soon? And even the Jays for that matter?

Another Orioles' note. Did you guys hear about how they are turning Loewen into an outfielder next season? Supposidly he was an awesome hitter.

The A's were idiotic for dealing Harden. Almost criminal that they gave him away for almost nothing in return.

I just think they have a better chance than we do, for at least the next two years.  After that, maybe my mind will change, depending on what kind of moves we make and who can accumulate value in the minors.

If they get some more pitching they can compete w/ those teams. Their offense will be fine.

Yeah, I heard that. The O's rotation is shaky. Cabrera is never going to cut it. Guthrie is good. Liz is a bust. They have some young guys but I doubt they are ready.

Interesting.  While we are on the subject of other teams, I am very interested to see the guy that the A's signed this year from the DR.  The reports I have read on what he may be capable of are insane.

I don't think so. The O's have no chance to make the playoffs in the foreseeable future. If we ever have a real time we'll have a legit shot at winning our division. Heck, 10-15 games over .500 will do it.

I couldn't believe they got Gaudin w/ him. He could still end up being a good one, too.

Jeez, Harden just made us look stupid that inning.  That should be one of the last chances we have to score.

He was a pretty solid contact hitter, not much power though.  He's a good athlete so he should make the transition.

And we are getting owned out there.  Maybe the most impressive pitching performance of the season I've seen against our Nats.

Watch out for Troy Patton (they got him in the Tejada trade). He would be in their rotation right now had he not gotten injured.

This team is worthless. Zim and Belliard take fastballs right down the middle for strike 3 while Milledge swings at ball 4 in the dirt for strike 3.
