Face it, we're screwed no matter where Desmond plays, it's probably better that he's a leadoff because other wise he'd be hitting the DP constantly.

Saving him for when the Braves HAVE to pitch to him, 1st base was open.

Right, but he burned another batter.  You burn a batter to have Stairs bat, not Nix.  Thats just an unhealthy obsession with mathcups.

LaRoche/Morse/Ankiel... our last chance.

If Riggs sends Stairs up there the Braves pitch around him with 1st open.  Now if you are saying why is Nix on the roster, I get it.
Yeah, I gotcha. I don't think Nix has many fans here, lol.

Hairston would have grounded out like his entire career

This could all be fine if LaRoche walks and Morse hits a two-run dinger.

Then the result would have been the same as Nix, only with one more batter on the bench.  I just don't get the logic.  Go with Nix vs. O'Flatery or Hairston vs. Moylan, no need to burn a batter/possible PR/defensive replacement just to get Nix vs. Moylan.

Down 2-0 if Riggs sat on his hands and let Hairston face Moylan with a man on third, he would get grilled.  I think this was the right move but Nix prematured all over himself.

Seems we are of different opinions, we'll leave it at that.

Well there goes something LaRoche and Dunn have something in common, both swinging at balls in the first.  At least he made contact though unlike Dunn.

It sucks to get shutout on OD, but holding the Braves to 2 runs, is definitely a positive for our pitching staff.
