John Smoltz (1-1, 3.86)
Smoltz notched his 16th career shutout in impressive fashion against the Padres on Saturday. During his first two starts of the season, he allowed both the Dodgers and Padres to score four runs in an inning. Thus he's been stellar in 19 of the 21 innings he's completed this year. He was 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA in five starts against the Nationals last year.

John Patterson (1-0, 4.00)
Patterson will face the Braves for the seventh time in his career. He is 0-2 with a 4.28 ERA against them. In his last start, Patterson was dominant for eight innings, matching his career high with 13 strikeouts to help the Nationals defeat the Marlins, 2-1, at Dolphins Stadium.

A lot of braves are hurt right.  I think Giles is out (I hate him. He just does things to win games). Renteria and C.Jones I think are hurting.  We'll take em how we can get em

I doubt it's going to be played tonight anyways Chief...the rain looks like it's going to stick around.

Check the radar.  There is a big dry slot below DC.  The heavier rain will be north of DC in about a half an hour.  Tomorrows game is doubtful.

I noticed that as well...looks like they may have enough space to fit a game between there.

for those of you who dont have MASN, its funny because WDCA 20 went to M*A*S*H while MASN stayed on the turf. The place is EMPTY. Which leads me to a question, where do people go during rain outs? Do they wait in their cars or do they just go home?

They either sit under the awnings or stand around in the concourses taking out second mortgages to buy beer and hot dogs.   :?

I'm excited about this pitching match up, I love the fact that Giles, Renteria and Chipper are all out. I feel good about our chances. That is if we can manage any hits against Smoltz. Isn't it weird? The Braves pitching BOMBS for most of the season and then right before they are about to face us, they get three CGs in their last 5 games and wouldn't you know it that we get to face two of them...

Really. It sould like that song form the Black Star album.

Alright then, what genre of music is the song from.

It's a R&B/Dancehall song...

If you're the type that listens to Talib Kweli's album ( I only know his singles), I doubt you'll know this song. It's Rihanna "SOS", I know no one of the "well-aged" people here will know that song...but they might know the song that the beat is from..The beat is originally from a song called "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell.

Well, they removed the terp and players are getting on the field. I wont be posting much...hope we win..this is gonna be a long game it'll go on until at least midnight..

It's supposed to rain through Sunday. Why do they think it's going to clear up for 2 1/2 hours tonight?
