I still think Ramos takes over at catcher full time... it might take a month though.

it's a good thing we have Davey.

Ramos- I lost my starting job and you cost me millions in arbitration
Storen - I lost my position and you cost me millions in arbitration
Morse- I lost my starting job and you cost me millions in free agency

Davey- don't worry?

not sure that works

There's no way Ramos is going to be embittered. He got injured and will be getting the job back when he's ready.

I doubt Morse has the personality for it, but I also doubt he's on the roster come opening day.

then swap Ramos for Suzuki when that happens

These are good problems to have.  Too many good players and not enough playing time.  It will be OK.

Also, neither the Nats nor any team should cater to individual players like that (as a general rule - maybe you make exceptions in certain cases, but not for the Wilson Ramos/Mike Morse/Drew Storen level players).

So if laroche slumps out of the gate Morse will start at first?

How did you get to this question from what I wrote?

if you're not catering to players and if everyone should be happy with their playing time, Morse and LaRoche (similar skills sets) should expect that who ever is hot will start, or do you only not cater to certain players?

Teams should (generally) not determine playing time based on a specific player's salary interests.

If you think doing what you suggest, alternating Morse/LaRoche, is the best way to win baseball games and win the WS, then I guess you do that.  I suspect that Davey does not think that is the best way to win.

Alternating isn't the best way, but having players on the bench bitter about playing time doesn't help either.

I think the benefit of having better players on the bench outweighs any potential negative of having too many good players.

I come to you with more info...

I am hearing Morse to As for AJ Cole and 2 prospects.  From the same guy that told me about Laroche.

Holy crap.  I'd like to see who the prospects are because Cole doesn't excite me too much any longer.

Thanks for the heads up.  Tell your buddy to not accept any more HRod-types from the A's.

AJ Cole and two prospects?  Isn't that the same thing as three prospects?  The Beast better be worth more than that.

This would be hilarious but still a good move.  Cole is still a top 100 prospect with frontline upside.

Rizzo and the Nats coaching staff probably know Cole as well as anyone, if he wants him back, I trust him fully on it

With Werth around I don't think there will be any bad clubhouse chemistry.

I think Harper will add to that dynamic this year as well.    He's Werth's wingman.

Dunno about that.  I could see cocky Harper starting to grate on some of the guys, particularly when they are struggling.  He also tends to do dumb stuff when he's upset with himself.  That's not exactly a stabilizing influence in the clubhouse.

Werth and Laroche are more likely to be the alkaline in the clubhouse.

My sources say  ...   :)    Just a feeling that Harper sees Werth like a "big brother" at this phase of his career.    Occasionally, "crazy arrogance" ain't a bad thing.
