Cosmos got 12 million viewers in the US across the different networks it was shown on, 17.5 million if you include DVR.

Is that good?

Science on Fox?  Wat?

Science on any network other than PBS is weird.

The Walking Dead season 4 premier got 16 million, so for a science show I think that's pretty damned good.

Were storage wars or COPS off the air for some reason?

 I saw that earlier, no wonder it took Janeway 7 years to get her crew home from the Delta quadrant.

"I understand there has been some controversy about my participation in a documentary called THE PRINCIPLE. Let me assure everyone that I completely agree with the eminent physicist Lawrence Krauss, who was himself misrepresented in the film, and who has written a succinct rebuttal in SLATE. I am not a geocentrist, nor am I in any way a proponent of geocentrism. More importantly, I do not subscribe to anything Robert Sungenis has written regarding science and history and, had I known of his involvement, would most certainly have avoided this documentary. Scotty was wrong. You can change the laws of physics.

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.  It's possible there is a faulty assumption somewhere or the fact that they're testing it in atmosphere is making the whole thing flawed.  If not, it'll mean every single satellite in space will be replaced by one half its size and weight that won't ever run out of fuel.  It'll also mean that you can make continuous acceleration ships (which would create artificial gravity to the extent of whatever speed you were accelerating at) that would reach speeds that massively surpass what we can presently achieve.

This is either all garbage or a Wright Brothers moment.

Solar eclipse this evening.  We won't have the best show here on the East coast, but it'll still be able to be watched outside and live streaming from Alaska where the really good show will be.

This morning, the OBX local news said the eclipse would be around 3:40 and very good here.  But I haven't seen anything yet.  The Weather Channel now calls for it around 5:30

Saw the Antares and then shortly later the international space station was visible for a few minutes going from northwest to southeast.  Wish we had fewer trees in the neighborhood so could have seen more of the Antares.  Maybe I was mistaken but thought I saw the Antares later as I watched the space station?  Or maybe that was just a plane.

Well, if you saw it you're from the future, the launch was aborted   boat in restricted waters.

I did see what I can only say was the ISS though.

Saw the ISS go over and found out about the postponed liftoff (unidentified vessel in the water near Wallops).   I figure NAS Oceana is 10 minutes away (flight time).    Sink that unidentified vessel and move on.

This is why I hope the NRA moves on to the right to own U-Boats being protected under the 2d Amendment.  It is the next step on a slippery slope.

What brought the NRA into this?
