DCFan:  Oops, I posted the Daily News article on the MLB board and stole your header, won't happen again.

Good stuff!

There is nothing more depressing than a bad team off to a horrendous start, which brings us to the bad/horrendous Nationals. They are rotten fruit in April, before the cherry blossoms hit the sidewalk.

It's good to see these out of town writers ripping into the Nats, StanK would have us believe that everything is just dandy and that the only problem is that the local media is giving the team a bad rap.

Did you see that the Nats called DC101 to complain about Elliot in th Morning's coverage of the team?  The Nats made threats and demanded that the station take steps to repair some sort of perceived damages.  Absolute stupidity.

I thought the Nats simply told DC101 that if you continue to rip our organization,we'll pull our advertising. Was there more to it then that?

The Nats demanded some sort of compensation.  Here's the link:

The last time I listened to DC101, Howard Stern and then the Greaseman were the morning dj's.

But this stuff with the Lerners shows where their priorities are, and it's not on the field.

The background music makes it too annoying. From the minute or so I listened to, it sounds like  Elliot in the Morning is a fairly typical drive time radio show. Some music, read the news and comment on current events. If the Nats don't like the commentary they should pull their ads. There is nothing wrong with that. BUT to whine about it and want any kind of action taken is just awful. I've harped on this, I know SSB has naged about this: The Nationals PR/marketing department is totally incompetent. Chances are they placed ads with DC101 because of Elliot's ratings. Do they think that he would garnered ratings by being the Billy Mays of drive time?

DC101 is popular with 15-35 year old guys, a core demographic the Nats need to reach, pissing them off was not a well thought out move.  Elliot will continue to do fine with one fewer client, the Nats need all the help they can get.

I saw this posted on the MLB board and thought it was appropriate.

Wow, even Carl Everertt would admit that it's 5000 years old.

LaGrange High School FTW.

One would hope so. With ballplayers you never know

I thought he was like the woman on The View who declared that nothing was before Jesus, not even ancient Greeks, and that she had never contemplated if the world was flat.

True. You have to think that they write the stories and then fill in names later. If the Mets had lost it would have been them that were pathetic losers.

Since the game thread is locked, Johnny Holliday just concluded a segment by saying, "the Nationals knocked off the pathetic Mets".

go ahead.  sf needed a timeout and he got one.  you've been consistently (word of the day) vocal about the lerners being cheap, so i won't ignore you.
