Well, I like to see the Nats win and I'm not even  a little demoralized. Davey has a much better baseball mind than either of us do.
Detwiler and the fans. I want to see greatness, not toddlers.

Why was Edwin Jackson allowed to finish his complete game?

Best pitching performance I've seen live. Didn't hurt the team one iota.

And now you use Burnett and (presumably) Clippard the night before a doubleheader when you might not have needed to.  :?

6 straight years of big league pitching 200ish innings or more at a high level.

I know Davey wants to keep the starters fresh in case of playoffs, how about keeping the BP fresh when your starters have great games like this?

I like this combo a lot more than Desmond/Espy defensively.

I doubt Jordan Zimmermann is on pace for 200 innings and he's gone 6 + innings every game.

Davey must be a genius, because I've never seen this. It's like we're the Rockies.

Jordan is on pace for well over 200 innings.  He needs to pitch fewer.

Defensively yeah. I think Espy > Desmond at SS and Lombo is slightly worse if not = to Espy at 2B.

JZim's on pace for just over 200 and he's in his first full season at this level coming off TJ.

6.3 innings per start times 32 starts = 202ish innings

And I doubt he gets 32 starts.

Don't see it, sorry.  Maybe in fielding percentage, but that's about it.  Danny and Ian both have better arms than Lombo.  Ian has a bit more range than Danny and Danny has a fair bit more than Lombo.  Lombo's a very solid 2B and probably a capable SS, but we're better up the middle with Ian and Danny, IMO.  My opinion may have been different going into the year, but Ian's been pretty outstanding at SS this year.

Maybe it's just me having flashbacks of the old Desmond at short.

I guess the point of what I'm saying is that Jordan is in the most need of babying, has the most innings pitched, still probably won't pitch 200 innings, so why would doing so afford you greater opportunity to pitch a complete game?
