and that's important, because team cohesion will be essential over the last 11 games as the club tries to improve its draft position for next year

It is if Riggleman thinks he's fighting for a job... which he should be, by the way.

Wood  ... now she's ragging on Lannan's waxed mono-brow and his bangs.    I hope she takes a nap soon.   She's ruining the mood (baseball that is).

show her a picture of Dibble's tattoos.

I underestimated just how badly the Nationals sucked.

290 losses in 3 years and you underestimate them?

Little side story to tell about Jason Bourgeois.  A few years back I sat next to his mother at a minor league game.  She was really cool and made him come over and talk to my son and I.  He is a good guy and I am glad to see that he is in the bigs.  He can run with and is most likely more driven to stay up than anyone after 11 years in the minors(he's 28).

It's really nice of them to punt these games so quickly so that we can all move on to other things.

the pattern this year has been to come back after giving up 8-10 runs early on, then lose 8-6 or 10-7, usually they load the bases in the 8th for Pudge to hit a DP.

Sorry if this was posted already, just saw this on Nationals Journal:

Quote
"I think that sooner or later, we're going to be past the honeymoon period here," Riggleman said. "These fans have been tremendous. We've got to start winning some ballgames. You can't ask people to keep coming out. Our support has been amazing. When we come off the field after practice before the game, the comments that we get from fans, it's very supportive. It's appreciated greatly, believe me, because there's a lot of cities where we'd be coming off the field to different language. These people have been great. It's appreciated. But it's also understood it's not going to last forever.

"People are just going to say, 'You know what, we're tired of hearing Jim talk about light at the end of the tunnel. And we're tired of hearing about players that we have coming.' We're going to have to win ballgames. That starts with me and my staff. We're going to have to get it done."

That's pretty much spot on.

If the team doesn't go 6-6 or better, then they will finish with 300+ losses in 3 seasons.

Hell, that's virtually guaranteed at this point.

At this point, I don't see how next year's team doesn't lose 90+ games. If say they lose 90 games next year and 95 this year (5 wins rest of the season), that is 570 losses in the 6 seasons the Lerner's have owned the team (95 loss per season average). That is an embarrasing track record rivaling only the Pirates in ineptitude.

Can anyone explain to me why Bob and Ray are just NOW talking about when to run/not to run and getting the red light?

You think it would have dawned on them to talk about this crap when Nyjer was getting caught 50% of the time he ran.

It's like they have a gag order to not criticize the Nats.
