I have to wonder what happened to Willie this year. He had 3 good years in row v. RHP. If you don't at least acknowledge that, your as blind as anyone who thinks he's played well this year. It may be they think that a few starts against righties can get him going again.
Frankly, we will not have the extra bat in the line up after we are through with this series, and after that we will not have the chance to give him starts. I do think this is a try to get him going so he can possibly be traded. If he does not hit, then you might see a release the next time there is a roster squeeze.
Willie looks like a guy that's trying to hit the ball 500' every at bat. He is getting himself out by being overly aggressive. He needs to spend a weekend with Tim Lincecum.
