He also allowed a HR in that outing. That counts as a peripheral. I'm interested to see if Marquis keeps this up. I'm not worried about his K's. He only allowed 1 BB in the past 2 outings (12 innings). If he lowers his walks, he will have a lot of success just like Lannan has had success his return by lowering his walk rate.
Lannan's had a lot of success because he raised his K/9 and lowered his BB/9.  If Marquis does one but not the other he'll merely return to his career average, which is not very good.  Plus two games is waaaaay too small a sample size for BB/9.

Poor Peralta needs to get outs and make sure it doesn't go near Nyjer.

Pitchers   IP     H   R   ER   BB   SO   HR   PC-ST
J Lannan   6.0   8   2   2    3      6    0   99-56

The 1.83 WHIP is way too high, but he's been striking guys out since his return from the minors.  He's not a #3 but most teams would love this from a #4 or #5 pitcher. 2 K's per 1 BB is OkiDoki.

I was at a game where Desmond made an error while Peralta was pitching.

I thought Joel was going to walk out to SS and punch him out.

Dude is intense!

I feel like Nyjer can do whatever he wants with no repercussions from Jim.

SF is now tweeting me.

I think he's following in Ladson's footsteps.

I'd like to thank Bobby Cox for gifting us that out via the bunt.

Another example of why you don't sac bunt with a position player!

Especially when you use a hitter that is batting .340 to do it, and then even worse when you are playing for more than a single run.  Insane.

Looked like he was bunting for a hit. Took a great play by Zimmerman to get him out.
