what more do you want out of carroll? he has two hits, including a double. and he is not a defensive liability

if there were two outs, i'd have baerga hit.  you dont NEED a hit with one out. you NEED to stay out of a DP and let Nick hit with men on

There's Nick for you.  If you can't hit, draw a walk.

So Gamecast says that Preston Wilson is 3-for-42 in this game.  (It's actually 3-for-4 with 2 RBI but the numbers run together and I did a double-take at first)

edit 2: n/m

Wilson singles, Johnson to 3rd, Wilson thrown out at 2nd (trying for a double)

Now church grounds out to short...

RBI single by Vinny :D

NATS 6

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the first pitch!!!  If we win this one I'll be pumped.  I only got here in the 7th because I had no idea that this was an afternoon game.

I have a tendency to post exclamation points to express surprise and/or elation.  My bad if it seems idiotic.

Is the chief coming back in?  Or did he pitch in the 9th at all?  I missed the 9th.

Ah well.  COME ON CHIEF!!!  ALL EYES ON CHAD.

Er...maybe not.  Wow, bringing in Majewski AGAIN.  Isn't he exhausted by now?  C'mon Tex!

THE LUCKY TEX-SIGNED BALLCAP IS NOW ON MY HEAD.

NO CHIEF WHY ???

Beats me.  Must be a good reason, as there's no way FR wouldn't bring in Chad unless he was exhausted or somesuch.  Let's hope it works out for the best.

I suspect that if Tex gets in trouble the Chief will come in.  Hopefully that won't be necessary.  We're battling here!

Cordero's been a bit shaky lately (two blown saves in immediate memory, and some questionable pitching in others).  I'm not absolutely sure that I'd risk a lead this important right now (as heretical as that might sound).

Well, I think the Braves maybe have Chad figured out, but I'd be surprised if the Mets do.
