LaRoche is awesome and I don't want to imagine what the offense would be like without him this year.

But I still think signing Prince Fielder would've been awesome.  At the same time, I'm happy with Adam's production and hope he keeps it up.

The worst is when clowns like Phil Wood and SSS/LANC members come out and say, "oh where are you people out that called him out last year" ... people had every right to be upset with LaRoche last year.  He even admitted he wasn't serviceable.

This year is different though.

Bravo to LaRoche.  Doesn't matter what the situation is, he's been coming through for us!

You have to pick up the option and then trade him. Otherwise he gets a big multiyear deal somewhere else.

I'll apologize to Adam LaRoche when we get to the playoffs based upon his play.  He owes us for the crapstorm that was 2011 - injury or not.

O.k. so that was my stance on April 9.  A month and change later I'm willing to say I was wrong and I don't think we'd be sniffing first place without LaRoche.

My apologies.

I don't think I ever dissed Adam, but to the extent that I ever shook my head during an at bat, I apologize. A sin in one's heart is a sin.

Adam LaRoche is so f###ing cool at the plate. Points his bat, get's in his stance, and relaxes until he sees a pitch that he can drive. Jason Werth, when he gets back, needs to take Adam LaRoche lessons.

I called him La K or something like that. Boy was I wrong. He even hits lefties.

I think you need to be more penitent. :)

I don't agree that moving Desmond to 2nd in the batting order will diminish his effectiveness.

I said 7th I am ceding Werh or Harper batting 2nd.

Can you trade immediately after exercising a club option or is there a waiting period?

LaRoche has been a total stud this year.

No, you can't.

What's the waiting period? The same as if you signed a free agent?

Alright haters who wanted him gone (and maybe still do)

Anyone who still wants him gone is deranged.

LaRoche is carrying the offense right now.

I give him big props for his performance so far.  I haven't seen a Nats player this locked in for quite some time.

Both hitting and fielding. Applause for Rizzo to have:

- not signed Adam Dunn, even though I yelled loudly

- picked LaRoche for sound hitting and fine defense

- stuck with LaRoche as I screamed last year

- stuck with LaRoche as I screamed over the off-season.

LaRoche is a class ball-player.

What are the shiners supposed to man up about, being right about the team being good this year?

I'm upset with Ramos, he's not even serviceable this year.

I do feel slightly vindicated about taking him over Sanchez. (knock on wood)

I believe so.

I'd like to see this in hard evidence.  If you pick up the option, he's not a free agent so I think you can trade him immediately.  Unless the contract says otherwise.

Thanks TT.

I was about to call out Hammonds. He just doesn't give up.
