Hasn't the forum been Nats-colored for the last 3 years?

maybe i'm looking at the wrong theme?  I see red, tan and grey.

No, that's right, though I think of it as off-white rather than tan.  Strictly accurate Nats colors might not make for the best readability, and a pure white background would be needlessly hard on the eyes in addition to slightly more costly energy-wise.

All of that said, I will certainly be experimenting with many possibilities when I re-skin the 2.0 theme.  I'm sure I'll seek feedback from everyone here.

i tried curve, didn't like it, fonts are too small and threads are too closely grouped together.  I'm getting old I guess.

Well, I'm not planning to get rid of the current theme, just adding another choice, so it will be to each their own.

You could always +1 the browser zoom to solve the issues you mention, though.

Looks like the detailed search is no longer available, unless it's hiding somewhere.  And when I tried the search bar at the top, it said I wasn't allowed to search in this forum.

I have search disabled right now until I can update the API that runs the search engine backend I installed last year.  SMF's built-in search is terrible and bogs down the server.

I dunno how I feel. The change is strange (I rhymed!).

I'm kinda confused by what exactly changed. I know you mentioned some things, but it is just like how your name/online/posts are a bit tighter, etc.?

I'm not sure what you want me to say.  There are some minor changes in spacing, font size, etc., but otherwise I copied the old theme over as closely as I could, and I think it looks similar enough to be a non-issue for the most part.  I will of course look into remedying anything significant (like your poll issue), but otherwise this is eventually going to be a legacy theme anyway, as I plan on skinning SMF 2.0's default "Curve" theme and using it for the forum default.  The old theme will remain on as an option for those who prefer it.

It's like when facebook changes something and everyone freaks out for about 20 minutes until they realize that nothing really changed and it takes about two log ins to get used to the updates.

For those who might have missed it at the end of the previous page.

For those interested, I'm making the "work in progress" copy of the upcoming new theme available for selection.  Feel free to take it for a spin and leave constructive feedback here.

Profile > Look and Layout > Current Theme (change) > WNFF 2.0

Or just click this link and choose WNFF 2.0:
